Cookie policy

How Gistful uses essential browser storage, optional website analytics and creator attribution.

Your choice

Gistful asks before optional website analytics or creator attribution run. You can accept optional tracking, reject it, or choose each category separately. Change your choice any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

We save that choice in a host-only cookie called gistful_consent for 182 days. It records your cookie preference, not your account, scan, or workspace content. This essential record lets us remember your choice.

Essential storage

Gistful needs browser storage to provide the service. Clerk uses authentication and session technology so signed-in pages can work. Its exact cookie names and retention are controlled by Clerk and can change as part of its service.

On the browser demo, Gistful uses local browser storage for workspace data on your device. In signed-in workspaces, this tab may use session storage for unsaved profile, question, or recovery edits. These are not analytics cookies. Removing them can sign you out, reset the browser demo, or discard unsaved edits.

Optional website analytics

Umami runs only on public pages after you opt in. It helps us understand page visits, referring websites, and interactions such as a signup or pricing click.

We configure it without account IDs, names, email addresses, free-text form content, scan questions, answers, drafts, or workspace data. We do not use session replay or analytics cookies. Umami processes the request IP address and browser information to group visits and derive approximate location and device information; it does not save the raw IP address in its analytics tables. We remove analytics events and session records older than 180 days through a daily cleanup. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; it does not remove records already received. Product measurement in the app is separate: it is a limited server-side record linked to an account, described in the Privacy notice, and is not sent to Umami.

Optional creator attribution

With your consent, Trybe records visits from creator links on public pages and connects them to a verified first subscription payment. It uses a visitor cookie named ugc_vid or ugc_vid_ followed by our store identifier. We use the visitor link for up to 7 days. A separate tracking page keeps the pixel out of your private workspace, and we send completed orders from our server rather than relying on a checkout return page.

Creator attribution is off until you choose it. We do not load the pixel on private pages or when supported browser privacy signals ask us not to track. Withdrawal removes our attribution storage, stops new tracking and suppresses pending deliveries that have not already been sent. It does not automatically erase information already received by Trybe. Our Privacy notice explains the information shared.

Third-party services

Payment checkout, sign-in, and connected services may use their own browser storage under their own notices. This policy covers Gistful’s website and the choices shown in our cookie settings. Review the applicable provider notice when you use those services.

Managing cookies

Use Cookie settings to change either optional tracking choice. You can also clear browser storage through your browser settings. Clearing the consent cookie means Gistful will ask again. Blocking all browser storage can prevent sign-in and other parts of the app from working.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our browser storage or analytics use changes. The version shown on this page is effective on 14 October 2026.
